  • We are delighted that Deanne Parkes, a Farmstrong Champion, is joining us at The Muster.

Deanne Parkes is a life coach, keynote speaker, and workshop facilitator who draws on her personal journey of overcoming depression to empower women and rural communities. Through her “Inside Out” approach, she helps people strengthen their mental health, confidence, and self‑leadership by aligning how they feel on the inside with the life they want to create on the outside.

A proud member of Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāi Tahu, Deanne brings a deep understanding of rural life, having grown up on the land and continued to farm alongside her coaching work. Her background includes coaching New Zealand elite athletes and teams, which gives her a strong foundation in resilience, mindset, and performance.

In her role as a Farmstrong Champion, Deanne shares practical, relatable tools to help farmers stay mentally well. She often draws on Farmstrong’s Five Ways to Wellbeing, encouraging farmers, particularly women and parents,  to be proactive about looking after themselves, not waiting until they are unwell.

At The Shepherdess Muster, Deanne will be onsite throughout the event to connect with attendees, share her top wellbeing tips, and offer practical tools to help rural women navigate pressure, build confidence, and look after their mental fitness.

  • The Ovarian Cancer Foundation New Zealand is working towards a future where every woman has the chance to live the life she wants, free from ovarian cancer. Right now, too many women with ovarian cancer face barriers at every stage of their diagnosis – including unequal access to treatment and support compared to women with more common cancers. The Foundation is working to change this by funding research to improve treatments, advocating alongside women for fair access to healthcare, providing support wherever women live across Aotearoa, and raising awareness of the symptoms so women know when to seek help and speak up for their health.

At The Muster, the Foundation will be sharing information and resources to help women better understand ovarian cancer and the support available. Their stall will be fronted by Holly Townsend, Kaiwhakahaere Hononga, Tautoko hoki – Engagement and Support Coordinator, who will be available to answer questions and connect women with the right information.

Drop by their information stall for a chat.
